Personal Finance, mapped to Hawaii financial literacy requirement

This document states which QuantAim unit covers each required topic, which lessons sit inside that unit, and what evidence exists that an individual student met it.

Hawaii's financial literacy graduation requirement takes effect in the 2026-27 school year, first applying to that year's incoming ninth graders, the class of 2030. Completion is documented in the student's Personal Transition Plan, and schools may meet it with a standalone course or by integrating it into existing classes.

How mastery is evidenced, per student

Coverage is not evidence. A curriculum review asks whether a given student met a given topic, which a course grade does not answer. QuantAim records the following against each student individually, and all of it exports.

Quizzes. Every lesson carries an auto-marked quiz. Answers are stored per question, so performance is readable per topic rather than only per lesson.

Written work. Free-response answers are graded against the prompt and the score is reviewable. A teacher can override any grade, and the override is what stands.

Concept mastery. Tracked per concept rather than per lesson, which is the granularity a per-topic report needs.

Reporting. A standards coverage view shows, per class, what has been covered and what has not. The gradebook exports as CSV for import into the school's own system.

Scheduling

6 topics across 30 lessons fits a single semester at roughly two to three weeks per topic. In practice, managing credit and investing both take longer than the schedule suggests, and earning income takes less.

On alignment and approval. This document shows how QuantAim material lines up with topics published by Hawaii State Department of Education. QuantAim has not been reviewed, approved, endorsed or certified by that organisation, by any state education agency, or by any district, and nothing here should be read as a claim that it has. Unit names, lesson titles and counts are read from the live QuantAim curriculum on the date shown above.
